Christmas gifts for the people who say they do not need anything. They are usually right, which is why the ones that land are made for them: their dog, their photo, their team.
We are a small workshop in Encinitas, California, and everything here is cut, engraved, printed and assembled by us.

01
Made from your photo
The gift that gets opened last on purpose.
Send us a picture, a name or a date and we make the piece around it. A photo is engraved into natural slate, where the stone turns pale wherever the laser touches it; a pet is redrawn and built up in layers of wood. Nothing here exists until you order it, so no two are the same.

02
One number, always on
For the dad, the brother or the coworker who is hard to buy for.
Small Wi-Fi screens that show the one thing someone keeps opening an app for: their team, the markets, a follower count. We assemble, load and test each one here, on a stand we 3D print. No app and no subscription.

03
Maps that light up
A big one for the whole house.
A map for the wall with lights behind it that follow the real thing: where the trains are right now, which lifts are turning. Hang it, plug it in, and it keeps itself up to date.
Mammoth live lift map from $249

04
Layers of wood
For the mantel or the hallway.
Six to eleven layers of basswood, laser cut, stained or painted one at a time and stacked, so each piece has real depth and throws its own shadows.

05
Stone for the table
Stocking sized.
Natural slate, laser engraved. Every tile is a little different in color and edge, which is the point. Coasters with your own words or drawing, and sets we designed ourselves.
Design idea: a pine, a snowflake, a reindeer and holly. The picture is a mock-up to show the idea. We engrave your own design, or draw one with you, on real slate.
Slate coasters, your design from $25

06
Things that grow
Something alive under the tree.
3D printed planters for a shelf or a patio, and living plants to go in them.
Candy cane bamboo $149
Ordering for a date
Personalized pieces are made after you order, so give us extra time before a holiday. If you need something by a date, email [email protected] and we will tell you honestly whether we can do it.
Questions people ask
What is a good Christmas gift for someone who has everything?
Something made for them in particular: a slate tile engraved with their photo, their pet in layered wood, or a desk scoreboard that follows their own team.
What is a good tech gift under $150?
One of our Wi-Fi desk displays. The Sports Meter, the stock and crypto price display, the follower counter and codeMeter start at $119 to $129, need no subscription, and set up from a phone.
Can a gift be personalized?
Yes. Slate is engraved from your photo or your own design, pet portraits are made from a photo of the dog or cat, and the cribbage board and water bottle are engraved with a name.
Who makes these?
We do. Encinitas 3D is a small business in Encinitas, California. Everything is designed, cut, engraved, printed and assembled here.
