For a husband or boyfriend who loves sports and gadgets, a Sports Meter is a tech gift he will not already own: a small Wi-Fi display that keeps his team’s live score, record and next game on his desk. $119 to $149, any team, no subscription.
We build each Sports Meter in Encinitas, California: we assemble it, load it, test it, and print its stand. It follows any team in 16 leagues, so you cannot buy the wrong one.
01
It is a gadget with a point
A real screen, Wi-Fi, automatic updates and a 3D-printed stand, doing one job well: his team, always in view.
02
It keeps the phone out of his hand
The score is on the desk or the shelf, so he can glance at it instead of opening an app at dinner.
03
You choose the look, he chooses the teams
Stands come in eight colors including black, wood and gold, with USB-C power or a battery. The teams are set up later, so you do not need to get them right.
Pick by sport
Every one follows any team in any sport. The pages differ only in the team in the photos, so choose the one that looks most like theirs.

Questions people ask
What is a good gift for a husband who loves sports?
A Sports Meter: a Wi-Fi desk scoreboard showing his team’s live score, record and next game. It is a tech gift most fans do not already have and it works with any team.
Is it a good anniversary, birthday or Christmas gift for a sports fan?
Yes. It is used every day of the season rather than once, and it follows up to six teams across five sports, so it is never out of season.
Will it work for fantasy football or following several teams?
It follows up to six teams at once from any mix of sports, taking turns on screen. It shows team scores and records, not individual player stats.
Can it go in a home office or on a nightstand?
Yes. It is small enough for any desk or shelf, silent, and the screen can be dimmed or turned off with one button.
Which sports and leagues does it cover?
Football, basketball, baseball, hockey and soccer, pro and college: the NFL, NBA, WNBA, MLB, NHL, MLS, NWSL, college football, men’s and women’s college basketball, the Premier League, LaLiga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1 and Liga MX. More than 1,700 teams in 16 leagues.
Can it follow more than one team?
Yes. One Sports Meter follows up to six teams at once, from any mix of sports. They take turns on screen, and a live game takes over until it ends.
Is there a subscription or an app?
No. There is no subscription, no account and no app. It connects to home Wi-Fi and updates itself.
How hard is it to set up?
About a minute. Plug it in, scan the code on its screen with a phone, choose the home Wi-Fi and pick the teams. Teams can be changed later from a phone.
How much does it cost?
$119 to $149, depending on the battery option. It comes with a 3D-printed stand in a choice of colors, a USB-C cable and a quick-start card.
Does it show live scores?
Yes. During a game it shows the score, the clock and the period, usually well under a minute behind the live action. Football adds down and distance; baseball adds the count, outs and runners.
